Former NBA player involved in car accident that led to officer's death

A former NBA player was involved in a traffic accident in New Jersey which led to the death of a state trooper earlier this week.

Dajuan Wagner, who played three seasons with the Cavaliers and appeared in one game with the Warriors, had his car rear-ended by another vehicle while driving on the freeway last Monday. That vehicle then hit a guard rail and caught fire, which caused police to respond to the scene.

State Trooper Sean Cullen, 31, was walking near the crash when he was fatally struck by a passing vehicle, according to the Associated Press. 

Wagner played high school basketball in New Jersey, and became famous for once scoring 100 points in a single game. He was selected by the Cavaliers with the sixth overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft, and averaged 9.4 points in 103 appearances before his career was derailed by injuries.
