Former Jazz All-Star Andrei Kirilenko retires

He might go down as one of the biggest "what-if" NBA forwards of all time. Andrei Kirilenko, 34, has called it quits after a 13-year career.

The Russian played most of his seasons with the Utah Jazz, who may want to give serious consideration to retiring his No. 47 jersey. An All-Star with Utah in 2004, he was the bright spot on the team for many years as they transitioned out of their era defined by John Stockton and Karl Malone.

Kirilenko's crazy versatility as a defender and playmaker would have been a perfect fit in today's "pace and space" game, but we'll never get to see a primetime Andrei actually play in this climate. His collection of body woes all but ended his best years prematurely.

Here's to AK47.
