Everyone is ruled out for the Nets' preseason game against the Pistons

The Nets are scheduled to play the Pistons in a preseason game Thursday evening. Note the language there: They're scheduled to play the Pistons. That doesn't mean all of them are doing it.

Brooklyn announced Thursday morning that nine—yes, nine—Nets aren't playing against Detroit tonight: Jarrett Jack, Markel Brown, Joe Johnson, Sergey Karasev, Thomas Robinson, Willie Reed, Bojan Bogdanovic, Chris McCullough and Andrea Bargnani.

Wow, that's a bunch. But with the Nets' official roster still at 20, 11 players is more than a serviceable amount. And as Devin Kharpertian points out at The Brooklyn Game points out, the younger Nets have a chance to earn some playing time—or even a roster spot:
