Evans cleared to play despite hurt foot

The Sacramento Kings say reigning Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans will be able to play though an inflamed arch on his left foot.

The team said Friday that an MRI the previous day showed that Evans' plantar fascia is intact and he has no stress fracture.

Evans will continue his prescribed treatments of a combination of medication, sleeping in a night splint and walking in a boot when not playing or practicing. He has been cleared to practice and play.

Evans is struggling in his second season. He is scoring 17.1 points per game and shooting below 40 percent from the field. Sacramento has lost 14 of 16 games.
