Dwyane Wade moves into third place on all-time Christmas scoring list

Dwyane Wade is officially the third-biggest grinch in NBA Christmas history -- a grinch for his opponents, that is.

Wade moved into third place on the all-time Christmas scoring list during Friday's 94-88 overtime victory over the Pelicans with a jumper late in the extra period. Not only is he adept at scoring, but Wade won't stop winning on Christmas. He's compiled a career record of 10-1 on Christmas Day.

Wade ended the game with 19 points, bringing his career Christmas total to 277. He surpassed his former teammate, Shaquille O'Neal, who scored 272 points on Christmas during his career. It's been a busy week for O'Neal, who was also surpassed by Dirk Nowitzki on the NBA's all-time regular-season scoring list.

Still, Wade finds himself far from first or second on the all-time list. It'd take four more big games to catch Oscar Robertson, who somehow got to 377 Christmas points even though he played before the invention of the three-point line. Kobe Bryant, meanwhile, is at 383 and still going. His Lakers take on the Clippers later Friday evening.

Let's not just brush Robertson aside to laud Bryant, however. The Big O is one of the greatest players of all time, so his inclusion on this list really shouldn't be surprising. Yet somehow, Roberston is one of the NBA's most overlooked great players. Let Wade's latest milestone stand as a reminder of just how good Roberston was.
