Dwight Howard all over the board with comments about Warriors
Atlanta Hawks center Dwight Howard ranged from confusion to respect with his comments toward the Golden State Warriors and Kevin Durant.
Like many other players in the league, Dwight Howard will be suiting up for a new team this season. Howard joined the Atlanta Hawks in free agency and is hoping he can regain his old form in Atlanta. While Howard is looking forward to his new role in the NBA, he had plenty to say about the Golden State Warriors.
His comments were a little confusing to say the least. He was asked about Kevin Durant and the Warriors’ new roster, but Howard admitted to SiriusXM radio via James Herbert of CBSSports.com, that he really doesn’t know much about Golden State.
I have not. That’s the honest-to-God truth. I’m happy for K.D. I know a lot of people have been killing him for leaving and going to Golden State, but hey man, he looks happy out there. I did have a chance to, I went to the bowling alley and I saw the first half of their game against the Clippers and he looks happy. He’s in a great situation for himself. But I haven’t really had a chance to really sit down, I don’t really know who’s on their team. I just glanced on the game for a couple minutes. Like I said, I saw the expressions on K.D.’s face of how happy he was. I’m happy for him. They’re going to be a really good team. Hopefully, it would be great to be playing ’em in the Finals. That’d be fun. ‘Cause I personally, they’ve beaten the teams I’ve been on the last couple years, and I want to beat those guys really bad.
Needless to say, that comment is all over the board. While Howard is respectful of Durant’s decision and how good the Warriors are, his comments are also incredibly confusing. He mentions he doesn’t know who is on Golden State, but then proceeds to break down their offseason and mention the fact that he just caught a glimpse of their game the other night.
He also brings up the fact that the Warriors have eliminated him two years in a row. While any competitor should want to get back at the team that eliminated, it seemed like a weird time to bring it up. Dwight more or less rambled here and didn’t make a clear, concise comment.
