Draymond Green told Kevin Durant to stop wearing his gold medal everywhere

Ever since Team USA won gold in basketball at the Rio Olympics, Kevin Durant and his medal have been practically inseparable. According to one of KD's newest teammates, that's become a little bit of an issue.

The day after Durant wore his gold medal to Monday night's NFL game between the Washington Redskins and Pittsburgh Steelers, Draymond Green told Conan O'Brien that he and the rest of the players in their group chat had to stage a medal-based intervention for KD:

Can you blame KD, though? He doesn't have an NBA title yet. In that case, we'd probably keep our gold medal handy, too.

Green also told O'Brien where he keeps his medal, and it's a touching detail:

Lastly, Green explained why it won't be difficult to match up with guys like Kyrie Irving, Carmelo Anthony, DeMarcus Cousins and the rest of his Olympic teammates:

That, my friends, is the true spirit of competition. It's easy to want to best someone that you don't know. The games themselves drive you in that case. But when you're toe-to-toe with someone you respect as a competitor and as a brother? Victory is even sweeter, as Green noted.

And if that's the case, we're going to have to try to sneak into Warriors practice sometime this season. Watching Durant and Green go at it now that they're good friends on the same team would be worth the risk of getting arrested for trespassing.
