Draymond Green memorized all 34 players picked before him in the 2012 draft

At this point, the story of Draymond Green's tumble to the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft has taken on a bit of mythic lore. We all know the reasoning (he was slightly overweight and had no clearly defined position), and we also all know the result. At this point Draymond is an All-Star and one of the most indispensable players in the league.

Still, even despite Draymond's growth into a superstar, he hasn't forgotten where he came from, or apparently who came before him. When the San Jose Mercury News asked him whether he knew the names of the players drafted ahead of him in 2012, he recited them by name, in order, without a piece of paper.

Again, we all know why Draymond fell in the draft that year, but at the same time it really is incredible to look at some of the names who came before him. For every one that's justified (Anthony Davis, Andre Drummond, Damian Lillard) there are guys like Arnett Moultrie and Fab Melo who aren't in the NBA at all any more.

Still, what was everyone else's loss was Golden State's gain, as Green has evolved into one of the best players in the league.
