Doc Rivers says J.J. Redick will 'possibly' play vs. Warriors

Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers said J.J. Redick is possible for Thursday's game against the Golden State Warriors, according to the Los Angeles Times

Redick has missed the team's last two games because of back spasms, which he sustained during the first half of the team's loss to the Dallas Mavericks last week.

"He's possibly going to play on Thursday," Rivers told the media at Tuesday's practice. "I don't think he's going to do much today. He's feeling a lot better, he got some shooting in, but again, with the back, you've just got to be careful.

"If it's close, he's not going to play, I'll tell you that. Playing a game on a Thursday in the middle of the season, we're not going to overdo this."

Back injuries have a tendency to reoccur and flare up randomly, so Rivers says he's being careful monitoring Redick's progress.

"The back can take a day, and then you feel great the next day," Rivers said. "Or it can take three days, or it can take a month. The thing with the back, you always have it. It can always come back. When J.J. comes back, and he's healthy, it's always around the corner."
