Did Evan Fournier take a jab at the officiating in Game 4 between the Warriors and Grizzlies?
Can an NBA player get fined for criticizing officials in a game in which he's not playing -- during the offseason? Orlando Magic wing Evan Fournier might have come close to finding out on Sunday night as he apparently watched the Golden State Warriors defeat the Memphis Grizzlies thanks to an MVP-caliber performance from Stephen Curry.
Well, it was Curry and maybe the officials, too, according to Fournier. Maybe. Fournier tweeted, "Feels like the Warriors have 6 players on the floor right now," which seems at first glance like it could be directed at the referees.
On the other hand, it might just be an acknowledgement of how well Golden State was playing, in the sense it felt like there were Warriors everywhere the Grizzlies turned.
After all, wouldn't it make more sense to say that it felt like the Warriors had 8 players on the floor if Fournier meant the officials? There are three of them. Let's give Fournier the benefit of the doubt on this one.
