Denver Nuggets Waive Two, Give Jarnell Stokes 15th Spot

The Denver Nuggets have officially finished their preseason games, and they have chosen Jarnell Stokes as the fifteenth and last man on their roster.

The Denver Nuggets, who dominated the Mavericks last night, have their first regular season game on October 26th, and they will have recently chosen Jarnell Stokes as their backup center.

Of the six “training camp additions”, Hummel and Wolters outlasted both JaKarr Sampson, Axel Toupane, and DJ Kennedy. Although both are solid players, the Nuggets back court is absolutely stacked, and with the Lauvergne trade, Denver only truly needed a backup center.

Jarnell Stokes along with the three rookies were the only players to play in all eight preseason games for the Denver Nuggets. He was able to convert 54.5% of his shots from the field which makes a good argument for that fifteenth spot.

Of the fifteen, Stokes boasts the second best rebounding percentage only behind starting center Jusuf Nurkic.

Before coming to Denver, Stokes spent Memphis and Miami where he combined to only play in 26 games and start two. For what it is worth, Stokes posted 16.3 points per 36 minutes which can attest to his ability to score even in his limited time while in Memphis.

Stokes will a great addition to the team, and he should be able to give valuable minutes to the Denver rotation.

Besides some Perry Jones rumors, Stokes was the obvious choice for the 15th spot, but he will have to prove he belongs. The road just started for Jarnell Stokes in Denver.
