DeMarcus Cousins sprains ankle in loss

By Cameron McDonough

DeMarcus Cousins gave Sacramento Kings fans a scare Saturday night.

The Kings center had to be helped off the court after he suffered a leg injury during the fourth quarter of Sacramento’s 121-117 loss to the Grizzles in Memphis. The injury occurred when Grizzles center Marc Gasol fell on Cousins’ left leg while diving for the ball.

The Kings reportedly received some good news regarding Cousins’ injury following the loss. Cousins’ X-rays came back negative, and his only injury was a left ankle sprain, according to the Sacramento Bee’s Jason Jones.

Cousins scored 17 points and had 14 rebounds before leaving late in the fourth quarter.
