Cousins, Kings replicate famous Joe Green ad for All-Star campaign
Sacramento's DeMarcus Cousins has been one of the most dominant big men in the league this season, but 2016's NBA All-Star voting does not indicate such.
To help gain some momentum for his All-Star campaign, the Kings shared a video of Cousins and a young fan replicating the famous "Mean" Joe Green Cocla Cola advertisement from 1979. The plot remains nearly exactly the same -- the main difference is that Sacramento's video focuses on Cousins' All-Star candidacy.
The iconic moment in Green's original version is when he throws a sweaty towel at the kid; Boogie does the same but with his trademark sweatband.
Cousins averages 25.0 points, 10.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game this season. He ranks 8th in All-Star votes for frontcourt players -- behind Tim Duncan, Anthony Davis, Draymond Green, Kawhi Leonard, Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant and (most notably) Kobe Bryant.
