Clips' Doc Rivers criticizes refs after Blake Griffin's ejection vs. Suns

Los Angeles coach Doc Rivers was vocally critical of the officials at Clippers-Phoenix Suns game on Thursday night after Clippers star forward Blake Griffin was ejected 2:36 into the second quarter.

Griffin's ejection left the team, who was already without its starting backcourt of Chris Paul (strained groin) and J.J. Redick (back spasms), extremely short-handed. The Clippers eventually lost to the Suns 118-104.

Griffin picked up his first technical after getting tangled up with Suns forward Mirza Teletovic. Then after a non-call on a layup, Griffin expressed his displeasure with the refs by yelling and flailing his arms.

Rivers criticized the call right after it happened, according to Ben Bolch of the Los Angeles Times:

He also complained to TNT's Rachel Nichols at halftime:

After the loss Rivers continued not mincing words , saying, “I just thought it was awful,” according to the Orange County Register. “That was a loss of composure.”

Rivers will almost certainly face a fine after his remarks, as Indiana's Paul George made similar comments following the team's season-opening loss to the Raptors and was promptly disciplined
