Chris Bosh may channel Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 3-point contest
Chris Bosh has shown some refreshing levity when talking about his participation in the NBA's upcoming three-point contest. It's almost as if the big man never expected to be there.
Now, though, after perfecting his long ball enough to earn legitimate entry into what could be All-Star Weekend's most anticipated event, Bosh is having some fun with it.
He knows he's the underdog, and he's absolutely happy to show off that attitude.
Unfortunately, CB may not be able to angle his body well enough to throw up those Kareem Abdul-Jabbar-like looks off the rack.
This isn't the first time Bosh has joked about the three-point contest. He recently admitted that he told he wife he wouldn't be practicing for it. He's added some other self-demeaning comments to the mix, too.
In reality, Bosh's entry to the three-point contest is legitimate. He's shooting better than 36 percent from three for a second consecutive season, and he's consistently one of the NBA's best catch-and-shoot threats. Plus, someone as likable as him could only make the event more fun—and everyone knows it's more enjoyable to see a big man out there.
