Check out the Christmas gift Lakers season-ticket holders will get
Let's face it: There hasn't been much for Los Angeles Lakers fans to look forward to this season.
The team is 3-19, enduring what will likely be the worst season in franchise history. Kobe Bryant is retiring, which is painful, and he's not exactly lighting it up on his farewell tour. And the three youngsters that could very well be the future of the franchise haven't been given the chance to take the reins because of Bryant's swan song and Byron Scott's insistence on trying to win meaningless games.
But now with the holiday season in full swing, there are still certain perks of being a Lakers fan -- especially a season-ticket holder. Like this Lakers Monopoly game (via beat reporter Mike Trudell):
It's interesting seeing who the Lakers deem as "legends": Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Shaquille O'Neal, James Worthy, Chick Hearn and Jerry Buss.
The photo cuts off near Hearn's right shoulder, so it's impossible to tell if there's another player next to him and below Shaq. George Mikan would make sense there, but perhaps Gail Goodrich and Pau Gasol could also claim some prime real estate.
Nonetheless, playing Monopoly is nice way to bond with family and friends over the holiday season, and hearken back to some happier Laker days.
