Celebrate Mutombo's number retirement with this ultimate Hawks highlight mix
Tuesday night will be a festive occasion in Atlanta. The Hawks are retiring the jersey of Hall of Fame center Dikembe Mutombo at halftime of their game against the Boston Celtics, and the team will wear a No. 55 patch on their jerseys to commemorate the big man.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Mutombo will become just the fourth member of the Hawks to have his number retired by the team. And in celebration of that honor, the NBA released a compilation of some of Mutombo's greatest highlights with the Hawks.
Get your index finger ready — there's a lot of finger-wagging to be done while you watch this mix:
Mutombo joined the Hawks in 1996 and averaged 11.9 points, 12.5 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game before he was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2000-01 season.
