Carmelo Anthony says Cavs drama is 'comical' compared to Knicks'

Carmelo Anthony knows where he stands in the current basketball pantheon.

He'll take being second/third/sixth fiddle to his longtime friend, LeBron James. He knows James' ring-count places him firmly in the shade.

But there is one sphere Carmelo Anthony will not take the backseat on, and that is unabashed, farcical basketball drama-that is his realm, and he will assure you, the fallout the Cavs are dealing with over an unfollow is child's play compared to what he's dealt with in New York.

Anthony spoke to members of the media at shootaround in Chicago ahead of Wednesday night's game against the Bulls. As ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk notes, the Knicks small forward couldn't help but laugh at the clamor over James' social media decisions.

"[Cavaliers] drama is more comical," Anthony said. "It's more getting off of Twitter. Know what I mean? It's always something that they blow up. Him unfollowing the organization. Him shutting his Twitter down. It is always something over there along those lines."

That isn't real drama, as Anthony notes. #KnicksProblems are real drama.

"Over here it's drama, a different type of drama over here," Anthony said.

Melo also addressed the migraines that sidelined him for Sunday's game against the Kings. Asked if the headaches were due to drama-related stress, he brushed it off with a joke.

"No I don't think so," Anthony said. "If that was the case I'd have had migraines every day last year."

That is drama.
