Carmelo Anthony reportedly will replace Kevin Love in All-Star Game
It looks like Carmelo Anthony’s string of All-Star Game appearances will continue after all. The New York Knicks star forward will replace injured Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love for Sunday’s All-Star Game, ESPN reported Wednesday.
Anthony, who has been named to the previous nine All-Star Games, is averaging 23.2 points and 6.1 rebounds this season ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Thunder. The 32-year-old will make his 11th appearance at the star-studded exhibition and seventh in a row as a member of the Knicks.
Love, who is averaging 20 points and 11.1 rebounds for the East-leading Cavs, had surgery on his left knee Tuesday and is expected to miss six to eight weeks.
