Canton Charge fall to Delaware 87ers 114-107

The Canton Charge on Cavs Night fall to the Delaware 87ers 114-107. Delaware used a big third quarter and changed the momentum of the game to get the win. Canton goes to 6-8 on the season.

The Charge at one point in the first half had a 12 point lead.  However, the 87ers kept trimming the lead and Dionte Christmas hit a 38′ 3 point bank jump shot to end the first half and the Charge lead was trimmed to five.

The 87ers used a big third quarter to take a double-digit lead. The 87ers scored 37 points in the third quarter. The Charge only score 20. That was the difference in the whole game. The turnovers in third quarter certainly didn’t help the Charge as they had six in the quarter. The Charge as a whole average 16.8 turnovers per game and they had 19 tonight.

    Player of the Game

    Despite the loss tonight, the player of the game goes to Roosevelt Jones who got his career high tonight against Delaware. Jones posted 15 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists. Jones has appeared in 12 out of the total 14 games for the Charge. Jones with his rebounding on the offensive end (6) helped give the Charge much needed extra possessions. Jones is a very skilled player on both ends and rebounds the ball extremely well and tonight, that was in full effect. He doesn’t get many minutes, but played very well tonight. Some people might remember him because he played for Butler.
