Byron Scott rips Lakers for 'pathetic' performance, playing scared

It's already a given that the Los Angeles Lakers are having a terrible season, but they took their level of poor play to a new low on Saturday.

The Lakers were blown out by the Oklahoma City Thunder by 40 points, 118-78 in OKC. It was nearly the largest margin of victory for the Thunder franchise, and the 78 points marked the second-fewest points scored by the Lakers this season.

The Lakers shot just 34.9 percent from the field and went just 8 for 28 on 3-pointers. After the game, Byron Scott ripped his players and told them they looked "scared" of the Thunder. He called that behavior pathetic.

Kobe Bryant sat the game out with a sore shoulder, and Scott said the team missed his toughness.

Players like D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson all said they didn't think they played scared of the Thunder, but there is little doubt that the team simply did not show up.

The Lakers are now 4-23 and still competing with the Philadelphia 76ers for the worst record in the league. If Scott doesn't like hearing what negative fans have to say, he better stay away from his Instagram account tonight.
