Bulls reportedly trying to acquire Magic guard Afflalo
The Chicago Bulls are not waiting for the start of free agency to begin reshaping their roster.
The Bulls are pursuing a deal for Orlando Magic guard Arron Afflalo, FOX Sports 1/Yahoo Sports NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported Saturday.
Afflalo, who averaged 18.2 points on 45.9 percent shooting from the field last season, has two years left on his current deal, which also includes an early termination clause that he can exercise next summer.
The Bulls have the 16th and 19th picks in next week's NBA Draft as potential trade bait. The Magic, who own the fourth and 12th picks, could be attempting to stockpile picks to go along with their young core, including guard Victor Oladipo and big man Nikola Vucevic.
Chicago reportedly hopes to be very active this summer in free agency, potentially making a run at Knicks star Carmelo Anthony, who is expected to opt out of his deal.
Afflalo will make $7.5 million this upcoming season and $7.75 million in 2015-16 if he decides not use his opt-out clause.
