Brooklyn Nets Assistant Jack Welch likely to join George Karl's staff

After signing on as head coach of the Sacramento Kings after the All-Star break this season, George Karl still has some work to do in order to fill out his supporting staff.

According to Scott Howard-Cooper of NBA.com, Karl has continued that process by recruiting Brooklyn Nets assistant coach Jack Welch.

Welch was on Karl's staff with the Denver Nuggets, where he specialized in player development. Here's what Karl said about Welch in an interview with the Denver Post back in 2012:

"Point guards — he loves point guards — he teaches pick-and-roll stuff, angles," Karl said. "And when you defend this particular way, what your options are, what you have to do. The perimeter guys, he works with their footwork to get ready to shoot the ball. And he can handle the big guys very well too. He does big-men footwork drills and catches. ... What I think he does very well is he takes what I want and incorporates it into his drills and repetition. John and I are very seldom not on the same wavelength."
