Brad Stevens loves how 'unique' Kelly Olynyk has become

The Boston Celtics have been in love with Kelly Olynyk for a couple years now, and over the past few weeks their obsession has finally started to make sense.

Olynyk is morphing into a stud with the ball, and so much more than a seven-footer whose gravity affects Boston's offense.

He's making plays off the dribble and making some really difficult shots look easy. Here's more on his rapid development, per The Boston Herald:

Olynyk is an efficient machine. He's shooting 38.9 percent from behind the three-point line on the year, and Boston is much better when he's on the court. Over his past 11 games, Olynyk is averaging 13.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, shooting over 50 percent from the floor.

He's a key part of the Celtics' present, and its future.

“Regardless of if Kelly starts or comes off the bench, we need Kelly to be an impactful offensive player,” Stevens said. “When he’s in the game people will have to account for him because of his shooting ability, and when he’s playing the way he’s playing right now it just adds another dimension to us. Unless we go small with Jae (Crowder) or Jonas (Jerebko), we’re unlikely to be that skilled at the 4. He really gives us traditional size plus some unique skill.”
