Arron Afflalo plans to test free agency this summer

It's safe to say the Arron Afflalo experiment didn't work out in Portland. This is not fault of either party, but more of the basketball gods, who saw fit to curse both the Blazers and Afflalo with a bevy of late-season injuries that doomed their championship aspirations.

This is likely Afflalo's last shot at a big contract, so it makes sense that he would opt out now, even with the salary cap exploding after next season. The question is, what kind of contract will he command? His production on both ends of the floor dipped this year. Part of that is due to the miserable train wreck that was the Denver Nuggets, but even in Portland he never found his groove. Still, he's a versatile offensive player and, when engaged, a stellar perimeter defender. It'll be interesting to see if he goes after the money, or takes a slight cut in pay to sign with a contender.
