Are Spurs front-runners to sign star power forward Aldridge?

Ever since the Portland Trail Blazers were eliminated from the postseason, there's been rampant speculation that star power forward LaMarcus Aldridge will leave as an unrestricted free agent.

One organization high on the list of potential suitors is the San Antonio Spurs, and the latest report makes it seem as though the 29-year-old Aldridge will join the silver and black next season:

This obviously makes sense from a basketball perspective, even if Tim Duncan returns. Aldridge and Duncan can start together (Tiago Splitter would likely have to be traded), giving the Spurs one of the most skilled interior tandems in the league.

It's a dream scenario for San Antonio, which could rebuild around Kawhi Leonard and Aldridge, as Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Duncan finally start to fade.
