AP Source: Suns, Teletovic reach 1-year, $5.5 million deal

PHOENIX (AP) The Phoenix Suns have reached a one-year, $5.5 million deal with forward Mirza Teletovic, a person with knowledge of the situation said.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the contract has yet to be signed.

The acquisition of Teletovic is the latest in a series of moves by the Suns to try to bolster their outside shooting. The 6-foot-9 power forward shot 39 percent from 3-point range for Brooklyn in 2013-14. It dropped to 32 percent last season, which was cut short by blood clots in his lungs.

Teletovic tweeted a photo of himself in a Suns uniform Thursday, shortly after the Nets reportedly withdrew a qualifying offer of one year for $4.2 million.

Later, in another tweet, Teletovic wrote, ''Thank you Brooklyn Nets and Nets fans for 3 great years.''

The agreement first was reported by ESPN.

Teletovic, from Bosnia, scored a career-high 34 points, 24 in the second quarter, against Dallas on Jan. 24, 2014.

He averaged 7.0 points in 165 games over three seasons with the Nets after signing as a free agent.

Phoenix introduced its major free agent acquisition, center Tyson Chandler, at a news conference Thursday.

Teletetovic played professionally in Bosnia, Belgium and Spain before coming to the Nets.
