Anthony Davis facing new defensive attention

Through his first three years in the NBA, Anthony Davis has seen just about every defensive scheme there is. He's been double and triple teamed. He's had stronger, larger guys guard him, along with shorter, quicker pests.

But the playoffs pose a different environment, and in it the two-time All-Star is experiencing something for the very first time. Here's Pelicans.com reporter Jim Eichenhofer:

"In addition to the competition rising—the Warriors pose a significant challenge due to high-level defenders Draymond Green and Andrew Bogut—Davis noted that the atmosphere has been much more intense in his initial taste of the postseason. 'Yeah it’s way different,' Davis said after Game 2. 'The physicality is different. The pace is different. The calls are different. So I mean, it’s tough. It’s all new to me.'”

It will surprise nobody if the Pelicans go down in a sweep, but this is a priceless stretch of action for the 22-year-old Davis. As good as he is, the playoffs are a learning experience for everyone.
