Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett play well for Team Canada

Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett aren't just teammates with the Timberwolves. They're also essential members of the Team Canada National Team, and with the Olympics just around the corner (well, if the corner is a year away), they're getting geared up to help their country win a medal.

Here's more from SportsNet.ca:

A familiar name, Luis Scola, led Argentina in scoring with 23 points.

The Canadians controlled the game more than the final score might imply. Canada was up 15 points at one point during the second half, but a strong push by Argentina near the end of the contest made it a bit closer.

This should be good practice for both Wiggins and Bennett, who have been participating with Team Canada for years. This game was just a tuneup, but getting practice against legitimate competition during the offseason and strengthening a bond as teammates can only help the Wolves as we approach the beginning of the NBA season.

Andrew Wiggins scored 18 points as Canada’s men’s national team opened the 2015 Tuto Marchand Continental Cup with a 85-80 victory over Argentina.

Wiggins went 6 for 13 from the field with a pair of threes in his senior team debut while Anthony Bennett, of the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves, added 10 points and 13 rebounds.

"I thought it was a good, hard-fought game," said Wiggins, who also plays for the Timberwolves. "It was physical, both teams played well. We’ve got a new group of guys so we’re still coming together. You can see that we’re getting more fluid with what we do."
