Andre Iguodala has high praise for JaVale McGee

Golden State Warriors forward Andre Iguodala had a lot of praise for JaVale McGee and the work he has been putting in.

The Golden State Warriors are trying to fill in the remaining spots on their loaded roster. It’s those key moves that are going to fine tune this team and help fill any weaknesses they might have. One of those small moves the Warriors made was adding big man JaVale McGee.

The much maligned big man is known for some lapses on the court, but he also has shown upside in his career. The Warriors could use a center that could add meaningful minutes behind Zaza Pachulia. Anderson Varejao is also on the roster, but if the Warriors could upgrade they will.

McGee is trying to earn his spot and one Warrior has taken notice. Andre Iguodala has seen the work that McGee has put in and he even made some bold statements. Speaking to Ethan Strauss, Iguodala cited the fact that he thinks McGee is better than a lot of the players getting paid a lot more.

For a player like McGee, confidence is just about everything. If he’s playing in a winning environment and has others propping him up, those mistakes can be eliminated. Working with a coach like Steve Kerr should help cut down on the mental mistakes.

This is one of those no-risk signings that could end up paying dividends. He has the physical tangibles that teams want. He just has to put it together one play at a time.
