Stewart-Haas Racing, Kurt Busch schedule press conference for Wednesday

Stewart-Haas Racing has called a press conference for Wednesday, Oct. 21 with driver Kurt Busch and team co-owner Tony Stewart. The press conference, which will take place at the team's race shop in Kannapolis, North Carolina, is slated for noon ET and will feature a car unveiling.

Over the course of the season, both Busch and team co-owner Gene Haas have indicated they have a "handshake deal" to keep Busch within the four-car organization.

Joining SHR for the 2014 season, Busch has three wins for the organization, including two this season. The 2004 Sprint Cup champion is currently third in the Chase for the Sprint Cup standings heading into this weekend's elimination race at Talladega Superspeedway.

In August, Danica Patrick signed a multi-year contract extension with SHR, bringing on new sponsor Nature's Bakery. Less than a month ago, Stewart announced he would retire from full-time Sprint Cup driving duties after the 2016 season, with Clint Bowyer stepping into the No. 14 ride in 2017.
