Results: Final Sprint Cup Series practice at Bristol Motor Speedway
After focusing primarily on long runs during final NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice at Bristol Motor Speedway, five-time Bristol winner Kyle Busch put his No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota atop the leaderboard with less than 10 minutes left in the session.
Busch posted a fast lap of 14.631 seconds at 131.146 miles per hour, bumping sophomore driver Kyle Larson from the top spot, who was fastest for much of the final session.
As the final minutes clicked away, Michael Waltrip Racing's David Ragan was able to put his No. 55 Toyota second on the speed charts with a lap of 14.687 seconds at 130.646 mph, bumping Larson down yet another spot.
Team Penske's Joey Logano posted the fourth-fastest time in the closing laps, circling the half-mile speedway in 14.807 seconds at 129.587 mph.
Denny Hamlin was fifth fastest after running just seven laps, while defending Sprint Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick was sixth with just eight laps in the final session.
Ryan Blaney, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne rounded out the top 10.
Unlike the day's opening session, final practice was without incident.
Jamie McMurray ran the most laps of the session, 60, and was 15th fastest on the speed charts.
