Preliminary Sprint Cup entry list for Auto Club Speedway

As has typically been the case in 2016, there are 39 cars on the entry list for a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race -- one car short of a full field.

That means no one will have to go home early, missing Sunday's Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway in Southern California.

Brian Vickers -- who has split driving duties so far this season with Ty Dillon in the No. 14 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevy of Tony Stewart -- is back this weekend as Stewart continues to recover from an injury.
