No crying Michael Jordan memes for Jimmie Johnson

When Jimmie Johnson won his sixth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship in 2013, he got a congratulatory text from NBA legend Michael Jordan, an avid NASCAR fan.

After he won his seventh title Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway, where he won the season-ending Ford EcoBoost 400 race along with the championship, Johnson was asked what Jordan’s 2013 text said.

“Go get seven (championships),” said Johnson. “I do remember what he said.”

And then, in a moment of unbridled joy, an excited Johnson added, “We got it! MJ, where are you buddy? We got it now.”

And Johnson's seventh championship?

That gives him bragging rights, given that Jordan won six NBA titles with the Chicago Bulls.
