NASCAR veteran Mike Wallace allegedly brutally attacked after concert

Longtime NASCAR driver Mike Wallace was hospitalized late Friday night after three men allegedly assaulted him following a Rascal Flatts concert in Charlotte, according to Wallace's brother Kenny, a FOX NASCAR analyst.

Wallace and his daughter Lindsay were leaving the concert at PNC Pavilion in Charlotte when they were attacked.

Kenny said Mike, 57, was kicked repeatedly in the head while unconscious. His daughter tried to jump on top of him to shield Wallace and was kicked in the ribs multiple times.

Mike's Facebook page shows a gruesome photo of his bloodied face and two more of his daughter strapped onto a stretcher. Kenny said his brother received 12 stitches inside his mouth for his injuries. He has been released from the hospital.

During his career in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Mike has made 197 starts with three top-five and 14 top-10 finishes. In the NASCAR XFINITY Series, he's made 494 starts, with four victories, 22 top fives and 66 top 10s.
