NASCAR promotes several executives to new competition roles
NASCAR has announced enhancements to their competition executive team.
Elton Sawyer has been promoted to the role of Vice President of Officiatiing and Technical Inspection, while John Probst has been hired as Managing Director of Competition and Innovation.
Sawyer served as the managing director of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for the past two seasons.
Probst joins the NASCAR competition team after serving as Chip Ganassi Racing’s technical director.
Brad Moran will fill Sawyer’s spot as Managing Director of the Camping World Truck Series after serving in the same role with the NASCAR Touring Series.
Sawyer is a former NASCAR driver who raced his last full-time season in 2001. Before assuming the role in the NCWTS, he previously served as the Director of Team Operations for Action Express Racing in the United SportsCar Championship.
