NASCAR community stands up for Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. said Friday that he was nervous coming to the track and talking about his ongoing treatment and recovery for his concussion-like symptoms. But it's clear from social media that Earnhardt's message was well received.
Earnhardt was absolutely clear that he wants to come back and race again and he will as soon as he's medically cleared. But he's doing the right thing by following his doctor's orders, too.
"This is not my decision, but it's the right decision and I trust what my doctors are telling me." Earnhardt said. "When they say I'm good to go I believe them. If they say I'm healthy and I can race I'm going to race."
Earnhardt received a lot of support for delivering the message he did.
Was nervous to do it, but I'm glad I came to @WGI today. It was cool to visit with friends. From fans to media, teams, and drivers.
