Mosley wins privacy case against News Corp.

A French court has found News Corp. guilty of invasion of privacy for publishing a story claiming former auto racing boss Max Mosley participated in a Nazi-themed orgy.

The court on Tuesday ordered the company to pay more than (euro) 32,000 ($44,000) in penalties and court costs.

Mosley has already won a privacy suit in Britain against the now-defunct News of the World newspaper for the 2008 story. He has also brought the case to the European Court of Human Rights, which could require Britain to pass a law forcing the press to warn people about stories that infringe on their privacy.

Mosley has acknowledged visiting the prostitutes but denied the encounter had Nazi overtones.

He filed suit in France, where the newspaper was distributed, at a judge's invitation.
