Matt DiBenedetto forced to sit out Sprint Cup race at Texas

Matt DiBenedetto went on Twitter to express frustration that he’s being held out of today’s AAA Texas 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway after entering concussion protocol.

In his place, Jeffrey Earnhardt will drive the No. 83 BK Racing Toyota at Texas.

DiBenedetto was not cleared to race by physicians following a crash in Saturday's NASCAR XFINITY Series event at TMS.

On the season, DiBenedetto is ranked 35th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup points standings. His best finish this year was a sixth-place run at Bristol Motor Speedway in the spring.
