John Wes Townley to miss second consecutive Truck Series race

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular John Wes Townley will miss his second consecutive race this week, as continues to recover from an injured left ankle.

Sacramento, Calif., native Dylan Lupton will fill in for Townley behind the wheel of the No. 05 Chevrolet during Friday night’s Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway. The race will air on FS1 at 10 p.m. ET.

“My ankle is still pretty sore but I’m hoping I’ll be ready to race next week at Homestead,” Townley said. “Dylan competed in some XFINITY Series races for Athenian Motorsports last year and did a solid job. He’s got tons of experience at Phoenix, so I’m very confident he’ll give our Chevrolet a good run there Friday night.”

Lupton finished 12th in his Truck Series debut last month at Talladega.
