Hertz to be Logano's primary backer
Winning a Sprint Cup championship is good for business.
Penske Racing signed a multi-year agreement with Hertz to serve as a primary sponsor for Joey Logano in the No. 22 Ford for the fall Sprint Cup race at Charlotte Motor Speedway and in the Nationwide Series with a combination of drivers, including Logano, Brad Keselowski and Ryan Blaney for seven races.
“We are very happy to welcome Hertz to the Penske Racing family and to the sport of NASCAR racing,” Roger Penske said in a release. “Hertz is a well-established and industry-leading brand worldwide, and we are certainly excited to begin this multi-year partnership in 2013 with our teams competing in both the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series.”
The Hertz agreement also will include an associate sponsorship package on the No. 22 in both the Cup and Nationwide Series.
Penske also announced that Shell will extend its partnership in both the Sprint Cup and Izod IndyCar Series in a multi-year deal. Shell will continue to be the “preferred supplier of fuels, lubricants and related products to the Penske organization” in one of the most successful ‘BtoB’ relationships in motorsports.
“Technological leadership drives us forward. The knowledge we gain, on and off the track, supports strong product development,” said Marvin Odum, President of Shell Oil Company. “This alliance, with Penske as one of the world’s most successful transportation businesses, allows us to expand within motorsports and other businesses.”
