Grand-AM extends probation for Gustavo Yacaman
GRAND-Am has extended the probation for driver Gustavo Yacaman for an additional two races.
It brings the total races of probation to four for the Colombian driver.
Yacaman was first placed on probation for his involvement in various incidents on June 1 at Detroit. Grand-Am said Thursday the probation was extended because race officials were unable to evaluate Yacaman at Mid-Ohio last week because he was involved in an early accident.
Yacaman made contact with Memo Rojas racing for position on the first lap. It caused a cut tire that sent him into the gravel. That cut his oil line and caused significant fire damage to his Michael Shank Racing entry.
