Fans weigh in: Daytona 500 is the favorite crown jewel NASCAR race

On Sunday, we asked race fans which one of NASCAR's Premier Series crown jewel races is their favorite -- the Daytona 500, Coca-Cola 600, Brickyard 400 or Southern 500.

Although the offseason is only a little more than two weeks old, fans are already looking ahead to racing at Daytona International Speedway in February.

The Daytona 500 was chosen as the favorite crown jewel event, receiving 50 percent of the total votes.

NASCAR's throwback event, the Southern 500 Labor Day classic at Darlington Raceway, came in second after receiving 31 percent of the vote.

The Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, NASCAR's longest race, received 13 percent of the vote, while the Brickyard 400 at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway received six percent of the vote.

Clearly, fans are already pumped up to see cars on the high banks of Daytona.
