Drivers ready to get on track
Rain has hampered NASCAR’s efforts to get in practice sessions at Daytona International Speedway Wednesday.
Track drying continues, but drivers will be on the track soon. NASCAR has announced a new schedule that will put the Sprint Cup Series teams on the track beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET, though they could start the session earlier if the track is ready.
Once the sessions do start, Cup teams will practice for one hour, followed by the Nationwide Series teams will practice for an hour. The Cup cars then return for an hour, followed by a final hour of Nationwide practice. Once those sessions are completed, the Camping World Truck Series will take the track for its lone practice session of the day.
