David Ragan goes for slide in debut for Michael Waltrip Racing

David Ragan's first race for Michael Waltrip Racing took a turn for the worse on Lap 119 of Saturday night's SpongeBob SquarePants 400 at Kansas Speedway.

Ragan was mid-pack in the No. 55 SpongeBob SquarePants Toyota when he got into the left rear of Josh Wise's No. 98 Phil Parsons Racing Ford at the exit of Turn 4. The contact sent Ragan's car sliding through the rain-soaked infield grass.

In a bit of irony, the SpongeBob SquarePants-themed car came to a rest and got stuck sitting on the SpongeBob SquarePants 400 logo painted on the infield grass.

Track crews had to pull Ragan's car from the grass, but he was able to continue, and restarted the race in 40th, four laps down to the race leader.
