ARCA champ Mason Mitchell to make NCWTS debut in Homestead

Fresh off his first ARCA Racing Series championship, 20-year-old Mason Mitchell is set to make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut next weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Mitchell will make his debut for his team Mason Mitchell Motorsports in the No. 48 New England Energy Management, Wildlife Foundation of Florida Ford F-150.

"I am excited to make my NASCAR debut during Ford championship weekend at the Homestead-Miami Speedway," said Mitchell. "We had a lot of success this year on the 1.5-mile tracks on the ARCA circuit and I think a top-10 is a realistic goal heading into this race. I can't thank everyone from New England Energy Management and the Wildlife Foundation of Florida for stepping up and helping make my dream become a reality."

In just his second full season in the ARCA Racing Series, Mitchell scored his first career victory at Chicagoland Speedway, and used a 5.8 average finish to earn his first career championship.

The young driver will have a veteran in his ear during his NCWTS debut, as veteran crew chief Ricky Viers will call the shots atop the pit box for Mason Mitchell Motorsports.

"I've known Ricky Viers for a few years and am excited to have him calling the shots," said Mitchell. "He's a proven winner in the NASCAR ranks and will bring a lot of experience and knowledge to the team."
