World champ Ogier wins season-ending Wales Rally GB
French driver Sebastien Ogier finished his title-winning world rally campaign with a wire-wire victory in his Volkswagen in the season-ending Wales Rally GB on Sunday.
Ogier, who secured the successful defense of his title in Spain last month, won the three-day event by 37.6 seconds from retiring Finn Mikko Hirvonen in his Fiesta.
"It's the best way to finish the season," said Ogier, whose task was made easier when teammate and closest challenger Jari-Matti Latvala slid into a ditch on Saturday and dropped three minutes.
Kris Meeke was challenging Hirvonen for second place until he damaged two tires after skidding into a ditch early Sunday and finished sixth. Citreon driver Mads Ostberg was third.
