Nicky Hayden Memorial Fund set up to benefit children

Nicky Hayden’s family has set up a memorial fund to benefit children in their community.

The Nicky Hayden Memorial Fund’s site reads that the 2006 MotoGP World Champion “loved where he came from. He loved to give back. He loved children. The fund is being set up in order to help local children in the community he loved so much.”

Hayden was an American motorcycle racer who competed in MotoGP and the Superbike World Championship. On Wednesday, May 17, he was struck by a car while training on his bicycle in Italy. Hayden succumbed to injuries on Monday, May 22 at the age of 35.
