Lance Stroll in the wars again as he crashes in Barcelona
Lance Stroll’s difficult F1 baptism continued in Barcelona Wednesday when he crashed the Williams FW40 into the tire wall in the afternoon session.
The Canadian had a spin Tuesday morning, causing minor wing damage which forced the team to end its day early, as no spare were on hand.
The team changed its test schedule to allow Stroll some more mileage today, instead of putting Felipe Massa back in the car. He spun into the gravel again at the end of the morning session, without serious damage, before hitting the tire wall with the front of the car at Turn 6 later on.
Stroll did a lot of mileage with an old FW36 in a special test program that began at the end of last year, but this week was his first experience of a contemporary car.
