Graham Rahal Has An Awkward 'IndyCar Test Drive'

Graham Rahal was the latest driver to take ‘IndyCar Test Drive’ and it didn’t go well for the No. 15 driver. Watch the video of his trivia quiz here.

Graham Rahal is one of the sharpest drivers in the IndyCar paddock, but when it comes to racing trivia, the No. 15 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing driver has some sharpening up to do.

The “IndyCar Test Drive” trivia challenge is continuing even though the season ended Sept. 16 at Sonoma, and Rahal was the one who got the call this week to see how many questions he could answer.

But when your first several answers involve the phrase “I don’t know,” you’re not off to the best start.

In all fairness to him this week’s batch of questions were about not only his career, but also made reference to his father, wife Courtney Force and father-in-law John Force as well.

Still, it’s surprising that he didn’t do better, given that the Graham Rahal we know has shown himself to be pretty brainy when it comes to racing. Watch his video below:

Rahal’s final score of 26 points was enough to tie him with Will Power for fourth on the overall results board. That’s better than Conor Daly, Tony Kanaan, Josef Newgarden and Simon Pagenaud (and does anyone else find it hilarious that the reigning IndyCar champion is so far on the total opposite end of the spectrum in this game?)

And you have to give Rahal brownie points – if not any actual bonus points – for being the first person to remember to name Alexander Rossi during the speed round of Indianapolis 500 champions.

Of course “IndyCar Test Drive” doesn’t come with a trophy or anything other than bragging rights. But it’s fun for the fans to see how much (or not) drivers know about their own careers, and their reactions to the questions and answers are often hilarious.

Here’s hoping that the league keeps this going until they’ve gone through the entire paddock. We still haven’t seen Helio Castroneves, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Juan Pablo Montoya, Charlie Kimball and quite a few others who should give this challenge a spin.

Who’s the next driver you’d like to see on “IndyCar Test Drive”?
